Markets and street markets in Riccione
Riccione is not just sea and nightclubs. Those who truly experience it, who come back every year and those who live here know: the markets are one of the best ways to get a hands-on feel for authentic Romagna — the local producers, the artisans, the collectors and the stallholders selling everything from garden tomatoes to vintage handbags from the Seventies. In Riccione you'll find markets for every taste and every day of the week, from neighbourhood morning markets to summer evening markets that keep the streets alive until midnight.
The best thing is that the regular markets run all year round: on Friday mornings you go to the weekly market in Riccione Paese, on Tuesdays and Saturdays you buy zero-kilometre products directly from the farmers. In summer, the calendar explodes: every evening there's a different market in a different part of the city, from crafts on the seafront to vintage on Viale Gramsci, from second-hand children's toys to creative markets in the parks of historic villas.
Regular markets: all year round, every week
Four weekly appointments that never miss, rain or shine, summer or winter. They are the heart of neighbourhood commercial life, frequented by residents and tourists alike who want to shop like the locals.
Friday Weekly Market
The largest and best-known market in Riccione. Every Friday morning, the Riccione Paese area fills with stalls selling clothing, accessories, shoes, fresh fruit and vegetables, cheeses, cured meats and typical Romagna products. It's the market where locals actually do their shopping: arrive early for the best stalls, arrive late and you'll just find the car park. The atmosphere is lively and genuine, far from the glamour of Viale Ceccarini but far more authentic.
When: every Friday, 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Where: Piazza Unità, Viale Diaz, Corso Fratelli Cervi (Riccione Paese)

Tuesday Zero-Km Market — Parco Cicchetti
The local producers' market. Every Tuesday morning, at Parco Cicchetti in the upper part of Riccione, around twenty local farmers sell their products directly: seasonal fruit and vegetables, extra virgin olive oil, honey, cheeses, eggs, preserves and everything that comes from the Romagna countryside without middlemen. It's the right place to buy fresh zero-kilometre products and have a chat with the people who grow them.
When: every Tuesday, 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Where: Parco Cicchetti, Piazza Giuseppe La Masa (Viale Ceccarini Alta)

Saturday Zero-Km Market — Fontanelle
The second farmers' market of the week. Same principles as Tuesday — local products sold directly by the producers — but in a different part of the city, closer to the coast. Saturday morning is perfect for a relaxed shop before heading to the beach.
When: every Saturday, 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Where: Piazza Fontanelle, Viale Sicilia

La Piazzetta delle Idee
A creative craft market held every Friday morning in Riccione Paese, alongside the weekly market. In Piazza Matteotti and Piazzetta Parri you'll find artisan stalls selling handmade creations: ceramics, jewellery, design objects, textile products and small works of art. It's the perfect market for those looking for an original gift or a unique piece to take home.
When: every Friday, 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM (March to December)
Where: Piazza Matteotti, Piazzetta Parri (Riccione Paese)

Monthly markets
Chi Cerca Trova — Antiques, Vintage and Crafts
The most eagerly awaited monthly event. Every second Sunday, the streets of Riccione Paese fill with stalls selling antiques, mid-century modern items, vintage objects, collectibles, furniture for restoration and crafts. You can find everything: from an Art Deco lamp to a Pink Floyd vinyl, from grandma's dinner set to a vintage bicycle. In winter the market is held in the morning, in summer it shifts to the evening to avoid the heat and create a more atmospheric setting.
When: every second Sunday of the month
Winter hours: 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Summer hours (July-August): 6:00 PM - 11:30 PM
Where: Piazza Matteotti, Corso Fratelli Cervi, Piazza Unità (Riccione Paese)

Stalls run by private sellers and small dealers selling second-hand objects, used clothes, books, records, small antiques and everything that fits in an attic trunk. 💡 Pro Tips for a Stress-Free Visit
Going to markets in Riccione is a pleasure, but a few practical tips make the difference between a productive morning and one lost in the car park:
1. Arrive early at the Friday market: The best stalls sell out in the first hours. By 9:00 AM you'll find the full selection; by 11:00 AM the food producers have already packed up. The clothing stalls stay until 1:00 PM, but the best items go early.
2. Bring cash: Most stallholders at the weekly markets and summer evening markets don't accept cards. At market-events like Lo Smanèt and Wanderlust the situation is better, but bringing cash is always a good idea.
3. Bring a bag: If you're buying at the Tuesday or Saturday farmers' markets, bring an empty shopping bag. Farm products are heavy (bottles of oil, jars of honey, crates of fruit) and plastic bags are a thing of the past.
4. Check the summer markets: The calendar of summer evening markets can vary from year to year. Days, times and locations are confirmed by the Municipality of Riccione usually in May-June. Before planning your evening, check the updated calendar at www.riccione.it or ask at the Tourist Information Office.
5. Strategic parking: For the Friday market in Riccione Paese, avoid searching for a space in the market streets. The station car park is just a few minutes' walk away. For the summer evening markets, most are in areas reachable on foot from the centre or the seafront.

Riccione's markets tell the story of a city that goes beyond the postcard of beaches and nightclubs. Behind every stall there's a story: the farmer who brings his garden tomatoes on Tuesday morning, the artisan who shapes ceramics on Friday in the square, the collector who displays rare vinyls in September. Going to markets here isn't just about buying: it's about entering the real life of Romagna, the one you won't find in the shop windows of Viale Ceccarini but that is just as beautiful to discover.
