Fiabilandia is the most historic amusement park on the Romagna Riviera: open since 1965, it has made generations of children (and their parents) dream. Located between Rimini and Riccione along the Adriatic coastal road, it's a small enchanted world nestled in greenery where fairy tales come to life among castles, pirates, colourful slides and family-friendly roller coasters.

Don't expect the heart-pounding roller coasters of the big theme parks: Fiabilandia is designed for little ones (roughly ages 2 to 10), and that's exactly its greatest strength. Here children are the real stars, and every ride is built to make them feel like they're inside a fairy tale. Mum and dad, though, get to relax quite a bit too.

Themed areas: a journey through fairy tales

Fiabilandia isn't huge, but it's carefully organised into several themed areas that wind around a large central lake. Each zone has its own atmosphere and attractions, all connected by shaded paths lined with maritime pines and lush vegetation.

Merlin's Castle and the Medieval Village

It's the park's icon — the one you can spot from the car park with its blue and golden towers. Merlin's Castle dominates the entrance and instantly sets the mood. At its base, a medieval-themed area unfolds with rides for the little ones, water games and live shows that liven up the small square during the middle of the day. The wizard Merlin, lying on the castle rooftop in all his majesty, is the must-have selfie of the day.

Pirate Bay: Captain Hook awaits

Walking along the central lake you reach the park's most adventurous area. A huge skull rock with a waterfall guards the entrance to the bay, while a real pirate galleon is moored on the shore. Children go absolutely wild: they can climb aboard, explore the deck and feel like little buccaneers. Around the bay there are water rides (be prepared for a few splashes) and adventure trails with suspension bridges and mysterious caves.

The Gold Mine: kid-sized thrills

For young adventurers who want to try their first "roller coaster", the Gold Mine is perfect. You hop into mine carts and set off on a ride through rocks, tunnels and a fake mountain that looks straight out of a western film. It's not extreme (no loops or crazy drops), but that little burst of speed and the turns make children feel like real daredevils. It's the favourite ride for slightly older kids.

The rainbow slides and water attractions

When the sun beats down (and in Romagna in summer it really does), the rainbow slides become a lifesaver. Colourful and wavy, they're perfect for racing parents against children to see who reaches the bottom first. You slide down sitting on mats and laughs are guaranteed. The area also features other water-themed attractions, ideal for cooling off without heading back to the beach.

💡 "Pro" Tips for a stress-free visit

Fiabilandia is a "human-sized" park, which means you can walk around comfortably without rushing. But a few handy tips can make all the difference:

1. Timing is everything: In summer the park opens at 10:00. The trick is to arrive early, hit the main attractions in the first part of the morning (when queues are virtually non-existent) and then enjoy the shows and play areas at a relaxed pace in the afternoon.

2. Bring swimwear: Some rides will get you wet, and the rainbow slides are irresistible. A change of clothes for the kids isn't optional — it's mandatory if you want to avoid the "I'm all wet" meltdown.

3. How long do you need? Half a day is enough to do everything at a leisurely pace, but if the children are having fun (and they will), you can easily stay from morning until closing time without getting bored.

4. Pushchairs and shade: The park is almost entirely flat and well shaded by pine trees. Pushchairs roll smoothly everywhere. There are plenty of benches and rest areas for snack breaks.

Practical Information

How to get there: Fiabilandia is located on the Adriatic State Road 16, practically on the border between Rimini and Riccione. From Riccione it takes about 5 minutes by car. By public transport, Bus line 9 from Rimini station stops right in front of the park entrance.

Parking: Large free car park just steps from the entrance. Quite a luxury compared to other parks in the area.

Accessibility: The park is fully accessible for visitors with reduced mobility and for pushchairs. Paths are wide, flat and well maintained.

Where to eat: Inside you'll find several refreshment points serving sandwiches, piadina flatbreads, pizza and ice cream. Prices are average for an amusement park (so slightly higher than your local café, but nothing dramatic). You can also bring a packed lunch and eat in the picnic areas.

Fiabilandia is the kind of park that makes you feel like a child again. It doesn't need to be the biggest or the most extreme: just seeing your children's eyes light up in front of Merlin's Castle or hearing them scream with joy on the Gold Mine is all the proof you need that you made the right choice.
