The Altromondo Studios, known on the Riviera simply as AMS, is one of the most historic clubs in Italy. Opened in 1967 in Miramare di Rimini, it was the first club in the country to introduce the figure of the DJ and to set the opening and closing hours that have become the standard of Italian nightlife. Since then it has always remained a reference point: Hardwell, Steve Aoki, Afrojack, Nicky Romero and pretty much all the big names of world electronic music have played here.
If it's your first time, this is the practical mini guide to arrive prepared: how to buy tickets, what to wear, how to get there, what to expect once you're inside. No fluff, just what you really need to know.
What to expect inside Altromondo Studios
The club is laid out across three rooms with different sounds, four bars and a private area, with a capacity of up to 3,000 people. AMS's real trademark is its tech setup: a Loud Professional sound system rated at 100,000 watts, a 63-square-metre HD LED wall covering the wall behind the console and over 80 motorised projectors that turn every night into a show. Over the years, computerised laser effects and the iconic Foam Parties that have made the venue legendary have been added.
The musical programming ranges from techno to house, from commercial to hip hop, with dedicated formats depending on the night. The crowd is young and varied, from 16-18 up, with a strong presence of students, foreign tourists and groups of friends coming from all over the Riviera and the Romagna hinterland. Nights start late, around 11.00-11.30 pm, and go on until 5-6 in the morning.
When it's open
Altromondo Studios is one of the few clubs on the Riviera that's open all year round. The calendar features regular weekend events and special midweek nights, with recurring formats such as the School Parties, the historic Foam Parties, the Tunga XXL nights and international DJ sets. In summer the schedule intensifies with midweek openings as well, while in winter the venue stays active on weekends and on the landmark dates such as New Year's Eve, Easter, Halloween and Ferragosto (15 August).
Main events 2026
The 2026 AMS season puts on its calendar a series of major national guests. On 14 March 2026 comes 22 Simba in a live performance, the young rapper conquering the Italian scene with his stories of small-town life and comeback, for a night that promises to fill the venue.
On 3 April 2026 it's the turn of Fabrizio Corona, landing at Altromondo for a special event, while on Saturday 18 April 2026 it's Kalush Orchestra (the winners of Eurovision 2022) accompanied by Simbochka: start 7.00 pm, admission 65 euros, 18+ only.
From May onwards the schedule gets into full swing with dance and hip hop formats, summer nights and the Foam Party events that are the venue's trademark. For the updated calendar, line-up and confirmed names, the reference is the official event calendar and the club's social channels.
Tickets, tables and pre-sales
Ticket prices vary widely depending on the night: on average, standard admission ranges from 15 to 25 euros for regular nights, rising sharply for events with special guests (such as the 65 euros for Kalush Orchestra) and for the landmark dates like New Year's Eve, Halloween and Ferragosto. Online pre-sale is always the smart choice: it's cheaper than paying at the door, you skip the queue and, for sold-out events, it's often the only way in.
If you want a table, it's better to book days in advance (sometimes weeks for top events) by contacting the venue at the infoline +39 335 5645740 or writing to info@altromondo.com. The table includes admission, a reserved spot and a bottle, with prices varying depending on the location (main room, private area, spots near the console) and the type of night.
💡 Pro tips for a stress-free visit
Altromondo Studios is a great experience, but it has its unwritten rules. Following them makes the difference between a night to remember and one to forget stuck in the queue at the entrance.
1. Arrive late, but not too late: before 11.30 pm the venue is still filling up and the 63-square-metre LED wall hasn't come alive yet. The right time to walk in is between midnight and 01.30: the music ramps up, the dance floor fills and you still have the whole night ahead. For big events, however, it pays to come earlier: by 01.00 you might already find a serious queue at the entrance.
2. Buy tickets in advance, always: purchase online on the official website or authorised portals (Ticketnation, Riviera Discoteche, Event Destination). You save compared to the door, skip the queue and, for the biggest nights, it's the only guarantee of getting in. Save the QR code on your phone and keep it handy at the entrance.
3. Casual dress code: AMS is a historic Riviera club and there is a door selection, but it's less strict than at the big clubs up in the hills. Still, forget flip-flops, tank tops and beach shorts: you won't get in. The vibe is smart casual, clean sneakers are perfectly fine, and for the girls it's a place where you can be yourself without having to overdo it.
4. Getting there and back home: Altromondo Studios has a big advantage over other clubs in the area: it's easy to reach from the coast. By train the Rimini Miramare station is just a few steps away, by bus line 31 stops right in front of the venue, otherwise there are the classic shuttle services from partner clubs and hotels. By car you're just a few minutes from the A14 Rimini Sud exit. If you drive, organise with a designated driver: police checks on the road after the nights are frequent.
5. ID is mandatory: entry is generally allowed from 16 and up, but for some events (such as concerts and nights with special guests) the limit rises to 18. Always bring your ID card even if you think you look old enough, and check the minimum age on the event page before heading out.
6. Enjoy the three rooms: the beauty of AMS is having different sounds in a single venue. Don't stick only to the main dance floor: make a round through the other two rooms, try the private area, hop between the four bars. Musical variety is one of the venue's strong points and lets you tailor the night to your mood, even when you arrive with a group with different tastes.
Practical Info
How to get there: Altromondo Studios is located at Via Flaminia 358, in Miramare di Rimini, near Federico Fellini airport and just a few minutes from the A14 Rimini Sud exit. By car from Bologna or Ancona you exit at the motorway toll and follow signs for Miramare and the sea. From Riccione, Rimini city centre or other coastal towns, you can easily get there by train (Rimini Miramare station just a short walk away) or by bus line 31, which stops right in front of the venue.
Parking: around the venue there are both free and paid parking areas. During big events they fill up fast, so it's worth arriving with a bit of leeway to find a spot without driving around for half an hour. Alternatively, given the handy rail and bus connections, many people leave the car elsewhere and arrive by public transport.
Shuttle and taxi: on the main nights there are shuttle services linking the centre of Rimini, Riccione and the main coastal hotels to Altromondo, with runs back and forth all night. Alternatively, local taxis operate non-stop during weekend nights.
Table and guest list bookings: for tables, guest lists, private parties and hotel + admission packages it's best to contact the venue directly at the infoline or through the official social channels. For the biggest events, booking should be done weeks in advance.
Bars and drinks: inside there are four bars spread across the three rooms and the private area, serving cocktails, beers and soft drinks. Prices are standard for a club and depend on the event. Bringing drinks from outside is not allowed.
Altromondo Studios is one of those experiences that, if you come to the Riviera and want to understand how Italian nightlife was born, you have to try at least once. The LED wall lighting up above the dance floor, the hundred-thousand-watt sound system, the three rooms letting you switch worlds in ten steps and the history that hits you from 1967 onwards: it's not just any club, it's the first club in Italy to have a DJ, and you can feel it. Get ready, arrive in the right mood and enjoy the night.
