The Baia Imperiale is not just any club: it's the venue perched above the sea in Gabicce Monte, the one with the 14-metre-high columns, the statues of ancient Rome and the panoramic swimming pool overlooking the Adriatic. Opened in 1975 by entrepreneur Giancarlo Tirotti under the name Baia degli Angeli and reborn in 1985 in the imperial form we all know today, it has been voted best Italian club four years in a row by the International Nightlife Association and ranked among the top 20 clubs in the world. This is where Romagna ends and Marche begins, and this is where anyone who wants to say they've danced in one of the most spectacular places in Europe has to pass through.

If it's your first time, this is the practical mini guide to arrive prepared: how to buy tickets, what to wear, how to get there, what to expect once you're inside. No fluff, just what you really need to know.

Baia Imperiale Gabicce, the Roman-style club by the sea with columns and pool

What to expect inside Baia Imperiale

The first impression is what stays with you: fourteen-metre columns, statues, mosaics, amphorae and set designs that make you feel inside an imperial Rome reimagined. The club develops across four rooms with different sounds: the Sala del Senato, the main dance floor, is the heart of the Baia; the Zodiaco is dedicated to the more electronic and sophisticated sounds; the Sala delle Piscine opens onto the outdoor pool area; the Terrazza is the panoramic sea view, one of the most photographed spots on the Riviera.

Capacity is huge, around 10,000 people, so it's never an intimate venue: it's a large-scale event experience, designed for nights when you arrive with a group, get lost from one environment to another and end up at four in the morning on the terrace watching the sea. The crowd is young and mixed, with a strong presence of Italian and foreign tourists. Nights start late, around midnight, and go on until morning.

When it's open

Baia Imperiale is above all a summer club: the main season runs from late May to September, with weekend openings and midweek events in July and August. Off-season the venue opens for selected events, especially for the landmark dates such as New Year's Eve, Easter (with the iconic Afroraduno) and Ferragosto (15 August), nights that draw people from all over Italy and abroad and for which it's worth booking well in advance.

Main events 2026

The 2026 season traditionally opens with the Afroraduno di Pasqua (Easter Afro Gathering), scheduled for Sunday 5 April 2026: one of the most historic appointments of the Baia, dedicated to the afro sound that made the venue a legend back in the Baia degli Angeli days.

The beginning of summer is marked by the Opening Summer Party on 31 May 2026 (start 10.30 pm, commercial, hip hop, house, revival and trap music), followed by the Notte Rosa Imperiale on 20 June 2026, the Riviera's Pink Night in imperial style. On 25, 27 and 29 June the Summer Party and Summer Night events continue.

July gets into full swing: Señorita on 11 July 2026, the Latin format that's got all of Italy dancing, and Valentia & Summer Vibes on 13 July 2026, with further weekly dates throughout the month. From August onwards the schedule intensifies up to the big Ferragosto events. For the updated calendar and confirmed names, the reference is the official website and the club's social channels.

Tickets, tables and pre-sales

Ticket prices vary depending on the night and the guest: on average, standard admission ranges from 25 to 40 euros for regular nights, rising for big events (Easter, Ferragosto, New Year's Eve and nights with international guests). Online pre-sale is always the smart choice: it's cheaper than paying at the door, you skip the queue and, for sold-out events, it's often the only way in for a venue that holds ten thousand people.

If you want a table, it's better to book days in advance (sometimes weeks for top events) by contacting the venue directly. The table includes admission, a reserved spot and a bottle, with prices varying widely depending on the location (Sala del Senato, poolside, Terrazza with sea view) and the type of night. The Terrazza is the most in-demand spot and gets booked before anything else.

💡 Pro tips for a stress-free visit

Baia Imperiale is a great experience, but it has its unwritten rules. Following them makes the difference between a night to remember and one to forget stuck in the queue on the forecourt.

1. Arrive late, but not too late: before midnight the venue is still filling up and the columns of the Sala del Senato haven't come alive yet. The right time to walk in is between 00.30 and 01.30: the music ramps up, the dance floor fills and you still have the whole night ahead. For big events, however, it pays to come earlier: by 01.00 you might already find a serious queue at the entrance, we're talking about a venue with a capacity of 10,000.

2. Buy tickets in advance, always: purchase online on the official website or authorised portals (Ticketnation, Riviera Discoteche, Event Destination). You save compared to the door, skip the queue and, for the biggest nights, it's the only guarantee of getting in. Save the QR code on your phone and keep it handy at the entrance.

3. Polished dress code: the Baia is not a beach bar, even though it faces the sea. Forget flip-flops, tank tops and short shorts: you won't get in. The vibe is smart casual with a touch of glam, a shirt and clean sneakers work well, and for the girls it's the right place to pull out the good dress. In summer the atmosphere is more relaxed but still polished.

4. Getting there and back home: the Baia is on the Gabicce Monte hills, you can't reach it on foot from Cattolica or from lower Gabicce Mare. If you don't have a car, shuttle services from Cattolica station, from Riccione and from the main hotels run on the main nights, or you take a taxi (factor them into your budget, the early morning ride home is not cheap). If you drive, organise with a designated driver: police checks on the road after the nights are frequent, and drink prices inside are designed so you drink little and slowly.

5. ID is mandatory: entry is allowed from 16 and up (a lower minimum age than the clubs in Riccione and Misano), but the checks at the door are serious. Always bring your ID card even if you think you look old enough. For some specific events the age limit may rise to 18, check the event page before heading out.

6. Don't stand still in a single room: the beauty of the Baia is the variety of its environments. Spend at least half an hour in each of the four rooms, stop by the Terrazza for the sea view, drop by the pool when the weather is good. Those who stay all night in the Sala del Senato miss half the experience. And remember to look up at least once at the fourteen-metre columns: it's the photo that saves the night.

Practical Info

How to get there: Baia Imperiale is located at Via Panoramica 36, in Gabicce Monte, on the hills that mark the border between Romagna and Marche. By car from Bologna or Ancona, exit the A14 at Cattolica and follow signs for Gabicce Monte, just a few minutes from the exit. From Riccione, Rimini or other coastal towns, the most convenient way is the train to Cattolica station, then shuttle, taxi or bus.

Parking: the venue has a large private parking right nearby. During the big events, given the club's capacity, it fills up quickly, so it's worth arriving with a bit of leeway to find a comfortable spot. As an alternative, there are parking areas along the panoramic road.

Shuttle and taxi: on the main nights there are shuttle services linking Cattolica station, the centre of Riccione, Rimini, Pesaro and the main coastal hotels to Baia Imperiale, with runs back and forth all night. Alternatively, local taxis operate non-stop during weekend nights.

Table and guest list bookings: for tables, guest lists and hotel + admission packages it's best to contact the venue directly at the dedicated numbers or go through the official social channels. For the biggest events, such as the Easter Afroraduno, New Year's Eve and Ferragosto, booking should be done weeks in advance, especially if you want a table on the Terrazza.

Bars and drinks: inside there are several bars spread across the four rooms, the pool area and the terrace, serving cocktails, beers and soft drinks. Prices are in line with a high-end club and depend on the event. Bringing drinks from outside is not allowed.

Baia Imperiale is one of those experiences that, if you come to the Riviera in summer, you have to try at least once in your life. The columns rising above you, the pool reflecting the lights, the Terrazza hanging over the sea and the bass hitting your chest from the Sala del Senato: it's not just any club, it's a piece of Italian nightlife history since 1975. Get ready, arrive in the right mood and enjoy the night.
