Cattolica Aquarium
The Acquario di Cattolica, opened in 2000, is the largest aquarium on the Adriatic and the second largest in Italy. Located in an area of 110,000 square metres, it is home to more than 3,000 specimens of 400 different animal species and offers a journey through the biological evolution of the Earth and marine ecosystems.
Park attractions
The Acquario di Cattolica features four themed routes: Blue, Yellow, Green and Purple. The Blue Route takes visitors on a journey through the biological evolution of the Earth, featuring sharks, Humboldt penguins, jellyfish and rays. The Yellow Route is dedicated to waterways and allows visitors to encounter otters and caimans. The Green Route explores the world of exotic animals such as chameleons and snakes. Finally, the Purple Route hosts the educational exhibition on the world of insects. The entry ticket also includes a visit to Mondo dei Dinosauri, a large outdoor exhibition featuring the main dinosaur specimens.
Experiences and activities
The Acquario di Cattolica organises initiatives and events that allow visitors to get in contact with marine creatures and get to know the stars of the aquarium up close. For example, you can watch the feeding of sharks, penguins, otters and rays, or book a Behind the Scenes tour to discover the precious work behind the tanks or the guided tour Secrets of the Reptile House to discover reptiles.
Where to Eat
Inside the aquarium there are refreshment points, such as the snack bar #Colonia34 at the end of the Blue Route, which offers various food and drinks. Outside, there is a restaurant of the Pesce Azzurro chain.Tickets
