Sport facilities and events for every kind of athlete
The sport tradition in Riccione has ancient and solid roots, thanks to which Riccione disposes of stadia and sport facilities at Olympic level for basically every sport discipline practised in Italy. The Italian and European aquatic sports Championships are frequently staged in Riccione (In 2004 Riccione inaugurated a new indoor Olympic swimming pool placed side by side with its outdoor twin) and has had at its disposal for over thirty years an eight-lane athletics track, which consents to Riccione the possibility of competitions of increasing attraction to its own track (completely restructured in 2007 on the occasion of World Athletics Championship). Moreover the baseball stadium and the numerous gyms supplied for different martial arts do not pass without attention (from Karate to Judo, Yoseikan and Aikido), to not forget the more than ten soccer and 5-a-side pitches that stage international events for athletes of any age every year.
