Besides lying down on the beach, increasing numbers of tourists decide to spend their holidays visiting the traditional resorts of the hinterland of Romagna, which cherishes small villages, impressive fortresses and castles and ancient traditions and cultures.

Apart from imposing monuments, even small trattorias and shops selling souvenirs are able to catch tourists' attention, who are attracted by outstanding evidences dating back to ancient times.

The landmarks of the Gothic Line, the places where Garibaldi lived, the fortresses of San Marino, Gradara and San Leo, the abbeys of Verucchio and the hinterland of Forlì are situated few kilometres far from the sea and many hotels arrange targeted tours to let tourists discover monuments and farmhouses which propose interesting food and wine itineraries based on the best traditions of Romagna.
